Submitting a takedown notice

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), a valid notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. The URL of the allegedly infringing material on Quick Plays (typically a /share?play=… link).
  4. Your contact information (address, phone, email).
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.

Missing elements may delay processing. We aim to action complete notices within 5 business days.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed in response to a notice you believe was mistaken or misidentified, you can submit a counter-notice. A valid counter-notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, phone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the US District Court for the district in which you reside (or, if outside the US, any district in which Quick Plays may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant.

On a valid counter-notice we forward it to the original complainant. If they don’t file court action within 10–14 business days, we restore the material.

Repeat-infringer policy

Quick Plays accounts that accumulate repeat DMCA strikes (three actioned notices, no successful counter-notices) are subject to termination. We’ll notify the account holder before termination.

False notices

Material misrepresentations in either a notice or counter-notice can expose the sender to damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Don’t send a takedown for content you don’t hold rights to.
